Project Benefits
The new STP at Sri Hartamas brings a range of modern, sustainable, and community-focused improvements. Designed to meet both environmental and urban development standards, the facility delivers enhanced safety, improved aesthetics, and resource efficiency—supporting the growth of a healthier, cleaner, and more liveable neighbourhood.

Improved Aesthetic Integration
The new STP Sri Hartamas is designed with a modern, enclosed structure that seamlessly blends into the urban environment. Unlike traditional open-air treatment plants, this facility adopts a compact architectural design that enhances the visual quality of the area, creating a cleaner and more harmonious landscape that aligns with the ongoing upscale developments in Sri Hartamas.
Enhanced Public and Operator Safety
Safety is a core feature of the STP design. By enclosing all treatment processes, the facility minimizes exposure to operational hazards for workers while also protecting the public from potential contact with wastewater elements. The secured and controlled environment reduces risks typically associated with conventional treatment plants, ensuring a safer infrastructure within the urban setting.
Higher Effluent Quality for Environmental Protection
The plant is equipped with Membrane Bio-reactor (MBR) technology, capable of producing high-quality effluent that meets Modified Standard A. This advanced level of treatment ensures that discharged water is safe for the environment, significantly reducing the pollutant load on local rivers and supporting Malaysia’s national water quality and sustainability goals
Reclaimed Water Reuse and Resource Efficiency
One of the key sustainable features of the STP is its ability to reclaim and reuse up to 2,000 cubic meters of treated water per day. This recycled water can be used for non-potable applications such as landscape irrigation, toilet flushing, and facility cleaning. By offsetting the use of clean potable water, the plant contributes to efficient water resource management and supports green development practices.
Increased Property Value and Minimal Odour Impact
The enclosed and odour-controlled design ensures that the treatment process does not negatively affect nearby residents or businesses. This thoughtful approach to urban wastewater management contributes positively to the surrounding real estate value, making it an attractive factor for future development while ensuring a high standard of living and comfort in the Sri Hartamas neighbourhood.
